We are working to improve the character initiative at Golden City R-III Schools, and we would appreciate it if you would complete our parent survey. The information you provide is important to us and will be used in school planning. We will have your students in grades 3-12 take the survey at school to get their input.
The survey should only take 10 minutes of your time. Please complete the survey today, if possible, but no later than April 22, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.

There's a lot going on today for GC Athletics! Here is a rundown of the logistics:
SCHEDULE
FFA Districts at MSU
Track at Marshfield
Softball @ Conway 4:30
With so many events and not many buses, here's how we will get them there and back:
- FFA is already at MSU
- Bus will leave GC at 12:40 with track and softball teams
- Bus will pick up players competing at MSU at Kum and Go at Kansas/44 @ 1:40
- Bus will drop track team off at Marshfield
- Bus will leave there and head to Conway for varsity only softball @ 4:30
- Bus will swing by and pick up track team on way home from Conway. The meet may still be happening at this time so softball players may be home a little later than usual.

Parents of 7-12 students - the Q3 reward trip has been planned. Your students will be notified via email that they have qualified for the trip. Permission slips will be sent home on Monday. Please have them returned no later than Wednesday so we can get accurate numbers for meals and attendance. We will be heading to 4th street bowling in Joplin from 11-1 on Friday April 1st. Congratulations and well done!

Bus leaves tomorrow 3/21 7:00am to go to the Pierce City Contest. We will return to school to regroup and head to the Area 9 FFA contest at Miller. We will leave the school at 3:00 pm. Official dress not required for Pierce City contest, but is for the Area contest so bring it with you! Please also bring notes with parents signatures for both event!

The FFA competitions scheduled for today and tomorrow have been postponed to later dates. Once those dates are finalized, we will get them posted.
Due to inclement weather Golden City will be out of school today. This will be a snow day and will not need to be made up. Stay safe, go Eagles!
Summer Ball Sign Ups will be in the gym tomorrow from 5:00-6:00. This will be for ages 5-15 as of May 1st. Contact Sara Beerly with any questions.
Good morning everyone! With the release of the ESSER III funds, we plan to offer summer school over the next three summers. Please fill out the form if your student is interested or will be attending this summer. We will use this to plan what the program will look like. We are wanting to get this together as quickly as possible, so a prompt response is appreciated. There will also be a paper copy of the form sent home with all elementary students and paper copies available in the HS office for grades 7-12. However, this form is the preferred method.

A reminder that passing a school bus with the stop arm out violates traffic laws. We report these incidents to the Highway Patrol. Also, please do not drop off or pick up your students in the circle drive. That was moved to the backside of the school at the beginning of the year for safety reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
There is a welcome back rally for the basketball team at the school. Pizza will be provided. They will be there in about 40 minutes.
