Last week, our talented yearbook staff had the incredible opportunity to spend a day at Pittsburg State University for a special Jostens Yearbook Workshop!
Our students got hands-on experience with design tips and tricks, collaborated with professionals and peers from other schools, and—most exciting of all—started designing the cover for our 2025-2026 yearbook! 🎨📖
It was an inspiring day full of creativity and teamwork! Huge thanks to Pitt State and Jostens for hosting such a valuable and fun learning experience. We can’t wait to see where this year’s theme takes us!

FFA SAE Spotlight!
Lakin Baker is our SAE Spotlight of the week!
Lakin's SAE consists of working at a local feed mill and raising his ducks! His roles at the feed mill vary and he has learned an abundance of information about animal nutrition and livestock husbandry!
Lakin also serves as our Chapter Treasurer and is a vital part of the Golden City FFA Chapter!

Golden City FFA members started their Annual FFA Fruit & Meat Fundraiser this week! Be on the Lookout! This fundraiser provides FFA with funds for National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN, next month and funds many activities and meetings throughout the year!

Learning By Doing,
Golden City Agriculture Department has hit the ground running this school year and been fulfilling the hands-on education that is a staple of FFA and Agriculture Education.
Students have been working on a variety of tasks around the Ag Department from replacing the siding on the greenhouse to building fence for the school farm, or making jerky and canning fruit, students are getting the hands-on experience they need to better their future!

A huge shoutout to Ms. Terry for all her hard work putting our book fair together and turning the library into such a magical, fun space! 🌟📚 Thank you for making this such a special experience for our kids!
And a BIG thank you to our amazing older students for lending a helping hand at the book fair sneak peek! 💕📚 Watching you guide the younger ones and help fill out their wish lists shows such kindness and leadership—we’re so proud of you! The younger ones LOVED your help!

-Purchases can be made with cash, credit/debit cards, or checks made payable to Golden City Schools!
-Book Fair is open every day 7:45am-4:00pm, parents are welcome to come in after school and shop with your kids!
-Book Fair hours will be extended on Thursday, 9/11 to 6pm for Title 1's Grandparents Night!
Even more information will be sent home with kids soon, so look out for that!
